Not so good at this blogging thing

Obviously, I'm not such a good blogger. Before I started one, I had all these great ideas that I wanted to write about in my "really cool blog"...now that I actually have one, I can't seem to think of anything interesting to write. Maybe its because my life is not so interesting? Oh well, I am happy nonetheless!

Some people use their blogs to share great recipes they have made, or news on their bundle of joy. I'm still debating what the theme of this blog is. I'm guessing its going to be a good mix of everything.

Andy and I are celebrating our one-year anniversary this weekend on May 3rd! I cannot believe it has already been a year. And what a year it has been! It was wonderful, but a little crazy and unusual too! Here's a brief recap: bought our first home, renovated our house, moved in, a/c breaks and move back in with in-laws for 3 weeks, HURRICANE IKE, both parents houses are destroyed, my family moves into our 3b/2bath house for 7 months, Andy gets laid off in January, Andy gets new (and better!) job in February, both parents' houses are renovated, my family moves out and back into their new-old house in March...which takes us to present day. We are loving our newlywed time since we didn't really get to experience this after the wedding. And my house stays so clean without 5 other people living in it...besides the enormous amounts of dog hair. There are little Sydney fur-balls floating around like tumbleweeds all over the house. I have a portable vacuum that I use daily to clean them up. I didn't even know she had this much hair!

On another note, Andy and I have signed up to run the Chicago Marathon on October 11, thanks to the peer pressure we got from our marathon running group. We booked our flights last night, so now its official, there's no turning back. I was also asked to be an assistant coach for the Houston Fit yellow running group this year...which means I am also running the Houston Marathon again in January 2010 as an assistant coach. I told Andy last night that I think I will take a break from running after completing the Houston Marathon in January. He didn't believe me. We will see what happens...

10 Goals for the Month of MAY:
1. Help Andy build and install built-ins on either side of our fireplace
2. Have a landscaper clean out the southwestern desert/cactus corner of the back yard that the previous owners so lovingly left for us
3. Take a cake decorating class
4. Get our dishwasher fixed...hand washing stinks! We are eating out until the dishwasher is back in action because I refuse to wash any more dishes by hand.
5. Enjoy Mother's Day and spend some quality time with both Moms
6. Finish reading the second book in the Outlander Series: Dragonfly in Amber
7. Read Marley and Me for book club meeting at the end of May
8. Start a better running/exercise routine
9. Brush Sydney's coat daily to help prevent shedding, if that's actually possible
10. Makes plans for my 25th B-day on June 11
!

Here are some photos in honor of our ONE-YEAR Anniversary!
