This weekend Andy and I are running in the Texas Independence Relay. We will be starting the relay in Gonzales, TX and running a 203 mile course to eventually cross the finish line at the San Jacinto Monument. The course follows the trail from where the Texas Revolution began in Gonzales to where Texas won its independence at San Jacinto...Go TEXAS! The 203 miles will be broken down into 40 different length legs and (thankfully) we are running on a team with 12 other people. Our team name is the Tejas Renegades! When it's not our turn to run, we will be driving to the next runner checkpoint in 2 vans (6 people in each) waiting for the next hand off. So, for the next two days we will be running, sleeping in vans, eating in vans, running again, repeating this cycle...all with no shower. This should be an interesting (and stinky) weekend! In total we will all be running anywhere from 13-18 miles per person. Wish us luck! I will post some pictures from the event after the weekend. Here's the website if you want to find out more: http://www.texasindependencerelay.com.
On another note, my parents house is almost complete! They are in the final stages of reconstruction. The last few steps are to install the carpet which should arrive middle of next week and to clean everything. I will miss them when they move out, but it will be so NICE for us to feel like we're "married". We only got to enjoy married life and our first home for 2 months before Hurricane Ike stormed through South Texas. Living with my parents has been an adventure and a learning experience for us all, especially since we were/are newlyweds. But overall, its been great having them with us and we have created some great new memories!
I hate to tell you this, but it's been over a month since your last post! You better keep up better than this!! :)
